Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
We are a supportive and growing outpatient mental health practice seeking a compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team. This role offers flexibility, clinical autonomy, and the opportunity to work with diverse clients in a collaborative environment. Clinicians can provide both in-person and telehealth therapy while receiving steady referrals, administrative support, and opportunities for professional growth and supervision
Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing psychotherapy services.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-informed, and person-centered approaches.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety during emergencies.
- Facilitate specialized counseling services including trauma, grief, addiction, identity-related concerns, and complex clinical presentations.
- Maintain timely documentation, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA and insurance standards.
- Collaborate with other providers and coordinate client care as needed.
- Provide telehealth therapy sessions while maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation.
- Maintain a caseload of 10+ client sessions per week while providing high-quality clinical care and documentation.
- Provide clinical supervision to MHC-LP clinicians through case review, treatment planning guidance, intervention support, and ongoing professional development mentorship.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
Skills
- Crisis intervention and risk assessment
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT coding, HIPAA, and clinical documentation
- Strong assessment, treatment planning, and case coordination skills
- Ability to monitor client progress and adapt treatment approaches as needed
Requirements
Active NYS Licensure
Must hold an active, unrestricted New York State license in one of the following:
- LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)
- LMHC-D (Licensed Mental Health Counselor with Diagnostic Privilege)
- LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor)
Compliance & Technical Skills
- Mandated Reporter Training: Must provide a certificate of completion for the NYS Child Abuse Identification and Reporting training.
- ✨ Note: Free training is available via the NYS Mandated Reporter Resource Center. Completion of the updated curriculum is required by 11/17/2026.
- Provider Identifiers: Active NPI number and CAQH profile (or willingness to create one).
- Platforms: Proficiency in SimplePractice and Headway is strongly preferred.
- Remote Standards: Access to a private, HIPAA-compliant workspace and secure technology.

Remote Clinical Supervisor (LMHC with Diagnostic Privilege)/LCSW/Psychologist
True to You Mental Health Counseling PLLC is a thriving private group practice seeking a seasoned LMHC with NYS Diagnostic Privilege/LCSW/Psychologist to serve as our Remote Clinical Supervisor. This is a non-caseload position dedicated to clinical mentorship, diagnostic oversight, and documentation excellence. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our MHC-LPs and licensed staff provide top-tier, audit-proof care.
Responsibilities
- Clinical Supervision: Lead 1-on-1 and group supervision via HIPAA-compliant video.
- Diagnostic Authority: Review and sign off on all Assessment-Based Treatment Plans (ABTP) and DSM-5-TR diagnoses.
- Documentation Audit: Review clinician progress notes within SimplePractice and Headway to ensure medical necessity and insurance compliance.
- Crisis Support: Serve as a remote consultant for clinicians handling high-risk cases.
- Licensure Oversight: Serve as the Supervisor of Record for MHC-LPs, including the weekly verification of clinical hours and the signing of NYS Form 4B.
- Path to Privilege: Provide the necessary diagnostic oversight and sign-offs (Form 4D) for licensed LMHCs working toward their own Diagnostic Privilege.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain contemporaneous supervision logs in accordance with NYSED Office of the Professions requirements.
Compensation
We offer a transparent, tiered hourly compensation model:
- Direct Supervision: $150/hr (Individual).
- Paperwork: Signing of NYS Licensure/Privilege forms is included in the standard supervision rate.
Requirements
Active NYS Licensure

Education & Experience
- Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

- Supervisory Background: Proven experience in clinical supervision is required.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep familiarity with NYS Office of the Professions Forms 4B and 4D.
- Compliance Expert: Expert understanding of NYS supervision requirements for Limited Permit holders in a private practice setting.
